NEW YORK, NY, Dec. 17 -- Digital First Strategies today announced it is launching a mobile social network around it's Multimedia/Broadband division. The mobile focused mobile social network -- to be called Connected -- also marks the first mobile social networking initiative for Digital First Strategies.
Digital First Networks (Multimedia/Broadband) is dedicated to super- serving today's interactive consumer. The Ning platform will enable Digital First to launch the mobile social network and offer an incredibly functional and simple user interface for users to easily view photos, send and receive messages, post comments, search profiles and more, all while on the go. Digital First plans to extend its community functionality to the web in the near future.
"With the growing audience who anticipate mobile and interactive resources made available to them, this venture is a natural fit for Digital First," said Chuck Holliday, Founder and Principal of Digital First Strategies. "Connected is the perfect outlet for us to kick off our mobile social networking push, as we continue to wrap social networking around our multimedia and broadband division. With over 45% of consumers under 35 more likely to browse and communicate through their mobile devices, we felt this move was beneficial towards our long term goals."
"This move represents the continued dedication that Digital First Strategies directs towards the consumer of today," said Veronica Woods, Vice President, Digital First Strategies/Creative Director, Digital First Networks. "As Digital First expands its presence in the interactive and mobile space, the brand will tie our audiences together into one community."
In addition to enabling entertainment properties to easily create social networking initiatives for the mobile platform, Ning also enables wireless carriers the option to provide a bevy of web-based community and social networking sites for subscribers.
